tutorial translated into dutch by Marianne

Message from Marianne
Thanks to Chayanne who made the zip.
Petite Talie then wrote the tutorial.
Petite Talie gave me permission to make a variant - in Dutch - of her tutorial.
My tutorial is therefore not a literal translation, and even differs a little from hers!

Message from Lisa T.
I mailed Marianne for permission to translate this tutorial into French and English
it was written in 2011 and published at the time on Voilà.fr which doesn't exist anymore
As I didn't get a reply from her, I'll take the liberty of translating it anyway
thanking Marianne for this very interesting work
You'll need Corel PSP (I used the 2020 version) and Jasc Animation Shop.

supplies

Launch Paint Shop Pro.
Open a new image => 345 x 43 pixels.
Fill this background with either a color, a gradient or a pattern, .... of your choice.
Place a new raster layer on the background (menu Layers => New raster layer) and write a pseudo, first name... using the text tool.
Move this name as far to the left as possible.
You can add a brush, a picture... or other... decoration... if you like.
It's up to you to be creative.
Merge all visible layers (menu Layers => Merge => Merge visible layers).
Copy the image (menu Edit => Copy).

Launch Animation Shop.
Right-click in the gray area of AS
paste the image as a new animation.
Give your image a name.
Duplicate this image until you have 46 frames.
If you've created too many frames, select the ones you don't want and click on the Delete key.
Next, open the zip animation (zipper-animation.gif) included in the package.
It consists of 46 frames.
There are now 2 animations opened in Animation Shop => Your own creation, and the blank animation supplied.

For both animations
==> activate the first frame of each animation, then select all frames (Ctrl-A keys).
The first image is surrounded by red, and all the other images are surrounded by dark blue.
Place the scroller on the far left.

1st method => Then, holding down the left mouse button ==>
Grab and drag the first animation of the supplied zipper animation to the first frame of your animation.
Don't release the mouse click until you've found the right position
Not before.
second method => another way of doing this is to type Edit / Copy on your keyboard when the blank animation is highlighted
then highlight your personal animation by left-clicking on the top horizontal bar, and press Ctrl + E on your keyboard
at this point your blank animation seems to be suspended at the end of your mouse cursor, above image 1
and you can quietly find the perfect location that covers your personal animation
without twitching your index finger on your left mouse click
when you've found the location, another left click will release the zipper and you're done!
See below the red arrow ::

View the resulting animation (or menu View => Animation).
If you're satisfied, save it as a GIF (save as...)
if you want to change anything, go back and start again.
Below you'll find a variant of the animation, created by Laboncourtoise,

to show you how to change the color of the "fabric" of the blank animation.
you can also replace the color with a texture, a pattern...
follow your imagination without restriction

little tip => if your animation has undesirable black or colored borders,
(this often happens because it is difficult to center your image properly)
In the screenshot below, you can see a narrow vertical black line on the left.

activate the first image, then select all
then activate the cropping tool

and in the first image, crop by removing these borders
on the capture below, I show you with a green line that I have framed the entire first image
by not including the unsightly black band(s) in this cropping.

then click on “crop” in the top menu (sorry, screen shot is in french...)
and your animation will be free of black bands.
Here's a screenshot of the animation shown at the start of this tip, with the black band now gone.
