but you can follow this tutorial with another version of PSP, however the result might be slightly different

Supplies
tubes - mask - texture

open the tubes, duplicate, close the originals, and work with the copies
place the selections, gradients, patterns,... provided into the dedicated folders of Corel PSP General folder
or import
open the mask and minimize to tray
TIP 1 -> if you don’t want to install a font -->
open it in a software as « Nexus Font » (or other font viewer software of you choice)
as long as both windows are opened (software and font), your font will be available in your PSP
TIP 2 -> from PSPX4, in the later versions of PSP the functions « Mirror » and « Flip » have been replaced by -->
« Mirror »has become  --> image => mirror => mirror horizontal
« Flip » has become  --> image => mirror => mirror vertical

Plugins needed
virtual painter 4

colors

set FG to color 1 and BG to color 2 in the materials palette

Use the pencil to mark your place along the way
hold down left click to grab and move it

 

Realization
open a new image => transparent =>  900 * 600 px
flood fill with color 1
layers => duplicate
close the eye or Raster 1 / the copy is the active layer
effects => Virtual Painter 4
tabs => click on each tab to choose settings =>
« filter » tab => Fauvist Oil Painting 
« Material » tab => Wash
« Adjust » tab =>  all settings set on  « subtle »

selections => select all
selections => modify => contract => 25 px
hit the DELETE key of your keyboard
selections => invert
adjust => Hue and Saturation => Colorize => 153 / 112
selections => invert
keep selection active
set aside for a later use (minimize to tray is a good method to find this image when you need it)
open « image 1 » => duplicate
close the original and work with the copy
layers => new mask layer => from image

layers => merge => merge group
edit => copy
activate your main work
layers => new raster layer
edit / paste into selection
selections => select none
copy / paste the misted tube as new layer
place properly
copy / paste the dog tube as new layer / place
layers => merge => merge visible
close the eye of the layer
select Raster 1 and open the eye
effects => texture effects => texture (provided) / use a light blue

adjust => sharpness => sharpen
open the eye of the layer above and activate
image => resize => untick « resize all layers » =>  70%
image => free rotate

place top right (see final result)
effects => 3D effects => drop shadow => color3

shadow layer is the active layer
effects => texture effects => mosaic / Antique

effects => edge effects => enhance more
adjust => sharpen => sharpen more
activate top layer
copy / paste the character tube as new layer
drop shadow (same settings as previously) / white
shadow layer is the active layer => blend mode : Dissolve - opacity : 30%
copy / paste the butterfly tube as new layer
image => add borders => tick « symmetric » => ...
5 px color 2
15 px white
2 px 2 color 2
30 px white
1 px color 2
resize to 950 px width
apply your watermark or signature
write your licence number if you used a licenced tube
save as... type .jpeg
